Functional Health

The traditional model of health care looks at health and disease as black and white.

Birth                Health         Disease             Death

According to this way of thinking, you are either healthy or you have a disease.

This is not reality.

Most people fall into the gray area of health.

Optimal Health   Functional Illness   Onset of Disease    Death

These are the people who experience :

fatigue, muscle and joint aches, digestive complaints, menstrual complaints, headaches, inability to lose weight, hot flashes, depression, insomnia, etc., or those that just do not feeling 100%.

Our goal is to address functional problems long before the onset of disease. We view the signs and symptoms of dysfunction not as inconveniences that should be covered up, but as clues that need to be investigated.

Through Comprehensive Saliva Testing and Blood Panels we are able to recognize and address functional health problems before they become disease processes. This is an opportunity for you to take an active role in your health and a direct step towards true wellness.

Dr. Meleah Asks some important questions of interest to Boone residents - Chiropractor Boone Dr. Meleah Asks...

Why is a "slipped disc" unlikely?
Separating each spinal vertebra is a disc. Its fibrous outer ring holds in a jelly-like material. Because of the way a disc attaches to the spinal bones above and below it, it can't actually "slip." However, a disc can bulge, tear, herniate, thin and collapse. But it can't slip.
How long does it take to form a bone spur?
Many who begin chiropractic care think their problem happened "last week when you bent over funny." But pictures of the spine tell a different story. Chiropractors know it can take your body years to deposit the calcium necessary to form a bone spur. It's your body's response to stress due to gravity or joint malfunction. And chiropractic care can help.
